An Unexpected Blessing

Leslie's mom recently gave me the sweetest, most thoughtful and unexpected gift ever.  She made me a prayer shawl!  It's absolutely beautiful and was made with prayer and praise.

"Shawls ... made for centuries, universal and embracing, symbolic of an inclusive, unconditionally loving God.  They wrap, enfold, comfort, cover, give solace, mother, hug, shelter and beautify."

Anne so beautifully also wrote in my card, "I pray that as you wrap yourself in your shawl, God will also enfold you in His loving, gracious arms giving you comfort, confidence, joy and love."

Thank you for this thoughtful, uplifting gift.  It's overwhelming to think that you would selflessly give your time and talent to make something for little 'ole me.  You've encouraged and uplifted me more than you'll ever know!  Thanks, Anne!

Show Us Your Life - PETS

”Show Us Your Life with Kelly's Korner”

It was "show us your pet" day at Kelly's Korner. I wasn't planning on participating. (That's obvious given this delayed response.) But, I just couldn't pass up the chance to tell others about Chloe, my soon to be 4 year-old Maltese.

I got Chloe right after my divorce.  I was still living with my parents and didn't want to go back to an empty house.  My friend, Cara, had a Matlese and highly recommended the breed.  When I found out they didn't shed, I was sold.

From her first night with me, she's never gotten me up in the middle of the night, and she lets me sleep as late as I want.  She loves cheese, car rides, shoelaces, going on walks, her little, green dog, belly rubs, going to my mom and dad's, a pile of clean towels, running the halls at school, company, and looking out the front door.

She hates going to the groomer, bows in her hair, and staying at home by herself for too long.  (She has ways of getting even!)

While Chloe is wonderful and patient with kids, I can't say the same thing about how she behaves when she's around other dogs.  She feels the need to bully them, especially bigger dogs!

Chloe is full of energy, loving, friendly, and so much company.
It's nice to have someone to come home to!

The Blind Side

Tonight, Mom and I went to see "The Blind Side".  It was totally amazing!  It was the best movie I have seen in quite awhile.  It was clean, funny, touching, and moving.  Sandra Bullock is one of my all-time favorite actresses.  I love her movies, and I think that this is hands-down her best performance.  She was fantastic.  I just can't say enough good things about this movie.  Grab your friends and family and run to your nearest movie theater.  This movie will NOT disappoint.  If you go, let me know what you think!

Thanks, Carl

Carl,
Thank you for spending over 45 minutes with me on the phone trying to problem solve what was wrong with my interent.  Thank you for not treating me like an idiot.  Thanks for being patient and not giving up after we'd tried countless different things and restarted the computer 5 times!  Who would have thought that the whole problem was caused by a program that your company made me install?  Thanks for laughing with me and keeping things light-hearted.

Sincerely,
a now satisfied customer

Long Overdue

Has it really been 2 weeks since I've posted?  I was having a little internet connection issue, but  I finally got that fixed on Sunday.  Due to a little bout with OCD, I don't feel that I can just pick up where I left off without first covering what I've been doing during my blogging absence.  So, being the list maker that I am, here's the rundown.
  • I've been setting boundaries at work by prioritizing things. I was not living a balanced life at all!
  • I've been putting things in order at home.  Including putting up my Christmas tree.  (Thanks, Mom!)
  • I've broken the nasty habit of biting my nails.  (It makes me gag to file them, though!  Yuck!)
  • I've started Christmas shopping.  (Once of my favorite things!)
  • I've been encouraged by others. (Another post about this coming soon.)
  • I've been spending more time talking to those I love.
  • I've been regularly attending church on Wednesdays nights.  (So uplifting!)
  • I've been patiently waiting on God.  (The patiently part is new for me.)
That's pretty much it.  Nothing earth shattering or out of the ordinary.  Just life.
