Who knew a little earplug could be so much fun!

Chloe's favorite toy is an earplug.  I captured a little video of her playing with it.  For some reason her playtime was short lived, though.  But then again, I have to remember that Chloe considers herself a princess and therefore spends most of her time on her throne...aka - pillows and/or blankets!

I'm still here, really!

It's been forever since I've posted.  I have several things to blog about, just haven't found the time to do it.  I'm not going to be doing it these next few days either.  I'm headed out for a mini-vacation!  We (Mom and Dad and other family and friends) are going to Brushy Creek in Black, Missouri for some serious horseback riding.  I can't wait.  I've made a promise to myself that I'm going to catch up on blogging when I return.

**Just a shout out to Alysia, Kelly, and Leslie: thanks for the fun night of Nert!  Monday had been a rough day for me and the evening was just what I needed.  Thanks for the laughter and friendship!  We have to do it again when others can join us.  ;)

**On a funny note, everything is packed and in the car, including Chloe's things as she'll be staying with Tina and the boys.  She's been sacked out on the couch, periodically checking on me as I work.  I picked up her dog food so that it wouldn't attract anything creepy or crawly while I'm away.  No sooner than I did this, she went to begging for it.  She does this quite often if she thinks anything of hers is up on the counter or table.  She lets me know about it until I get it down.  "Let sleeping dogs lie."  That's for sure!

Silly dog!

Chloe and I fight over this:
Of an evening when I sit down to watch T.V. I always sit in the recliner.  On commericals I'll get up to do some work around the house.  As soon I get up, Chloe jumps up and claims the chair for herself.  When I come back to sit down, she rolls over and looks up at me like, "you wouldn't take this from me would you?"
Silly, dog!

Bath time

Definitely not one of her finest moments!

Show Us Your Life - PETS

”Show Us Your Life with Kelly's Korner”

It was "show us your pet" day at Kelly's Korner. I wasn't planning on participating. (That's obvious given this delayed response.) But, I just couldn't pass up the chance to tell others about Chloe, my soon to be 4 year-old Maltese.

I got Chloe right after my divorce.  I was still living with my parents and didn't want to go back to an empty house.  My friend, Cara, had a Matlese and highly recommended the breed.  When I found out they didn't shed, I was sold.

From her first night with me, she's never gotten me up in the middle of the night, and she lets me sleep as late as I want.  She loves cheese, car rides, shoelaces, going on walks, her little, green dog, belly rubs, going to my mom and dad's, a pile of clean towels, running the halls at school, company, and looking out the front door.

She hates going to the groomer, bows in her hair, and staying at home by herself for too long.  (She has ways of getting even!)

While Chloe is wonderful and patient with kids, I can't say the same thing about how she behaves when she's around other dogs.  She feels the need to bully them, especially bigger dogs!

Chloe is full of energy, loving, friendly, and so much company.
It's nice to have someone to come home to!

Look now. It won't last long

Chloe went to the groomer on Tuesday. She looks so cute! The last couple of times I've gone to pick her up, they've shaved her. She definitely wasn't looking her best. But, this time they got it right! (Thanks, Tina, for keeping after them!) I thought I'd post of few pictures. It's Chloe's mission in life to tear out the bow she gets at the groomer. She rubs and rolls until her hair is in total disarray. I took this pictures the same day she went to the groomer and you can already tell she'd been working on getting it out!

Clean Clothes

Apparently, I'm not the only one who likes them!
